The Perfect Dabbing Temperature: Reality or Myth?

Dabbing Temperature: Reality or Myth

A lot of people don’t know whether it’s good to dab at a high temperature or a low temperature. They want to dab but don’t know which way to go. So, we thought we would end the confusion for all our readers and the dabbers out there.

Nowadays, a shift has been observed in the dabbing culture from dabbing at a higher temperature to a lower temperature. It gives a good flavour out of the concentrate and is also safe for your health.

On the other hand, many of the stoners still use high temperatures. According to them, dabbing at a higher temperature gets you much higher and for longer.

In this article, we will investigate at which temperature people should smoke. Is it true that the more hot the concentrate is, the better the high?

Read along to find out!

Is there a correct temperature for dabbing?

When you are into dabbing, there is no perfect temperature because every temperature gives a different type of flavour hit and experience. So, it all depends on the flavour you like and whether you can get it at a low temperature or a high temperature.

As the active ingredients in cannabis have been understood, so it has been found that the optimal temperature for dabbing is between 300F and 450F.

The boiling point is the main factor of getting this optimal temperature range as the ingredients found in cannabis which are cannabinoids and terpene, have a specific boiling point. The boiling point needs to be discussed as the dabbing relies on the vaporization method. When the liquid changes to vapour, that point is called as boiling point. The boiling point of THC is 315F, and CBD, which is the other ingredient in cannabis, boils between 320 and 356F.

The aromatic compounds, which are called terpenes, also have a different boiling point. However, most of the terpenes change to vapour at a temperature of around 330-390F. So now we know that the ideal temperature for dabbing could be somewhere between 300 to 450 F. The reason is that the boiling points of most of the compounds lie between this temperature.

Low Temp Dab vs High Temp Dab

At lower temperatures, the dabbing tends to give a smoother and flavorful hit. On the other hand, a higher temperature would give you a harsh but intense experience. But it is a long debate about which temperature gets you higher.

As observed, the high, which low-temperature dabbing would give, will kick in slowly but will be long lasting and easier on you. While the high you get from dabbing at high temperature would kick In quickly and give you an intense high but goes away quickly as well.

The most significant disadvantage of smoking at a higher temperature is destroying the compounds that produce flavour.

Moreover, it would be wrong to smoke at a temperature above 450F because it will be harmful to you.

Conclusion

As we have seen earlier that there is no perfect temperature for dabbing. Different compounds in cannabis boil at different temperatures. That is the reason why it is said that the optimal temperature could range from 300 to 450F.  As compounds like THC, CBD, and terpenes vaporize at this temperature range, it would give a good hit if you smoke at this temperature.

However, when you are smoking at a lower temperature, it will give you a long-lasting high, but the effects would come in slowly. On the other hand, high-temperature dabbing would provide an intense thrill with effects going away quickly.
